Two arrested for GJ city park shooting

Deputies arrest two in connection with gunshots at Riverside Park Saturday night.

Marcos Gomez, 20, and Nicholas Guzman, 22, have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Authorities say around 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Riverside Park after receiving calls of shots fired.

No one was hit, but a vehicle in the area was damaged.

Authorities were able to get a description of the suspects, and a short time later, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office contacted the suspect vehicle. Guzman was booked on DUI, reckless driving and a weapons offense.

Gomez was arrested for a weapons offense, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal impersonation, among other charges.

Those with more information are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at (970) 241-STOP.
