Denver VA representative visiting Western Slope

Western Slope veterans trying to wade through the confusing world of military benefits can now get a helping hand.

A Denver veterans' benefits representative will be visiting the Java Junction Coffee Shop in the Teller Arms Shopping Center, Grand Junction, on Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the Grand Junction VA Medical Center.

Appointments will be on a walk-in basis. The representative will then visit the Homeward Bound Shelter on North Avenue in the evening.

The representative will also visit the Glenwood Springs TeleHealth Clinic on South Grand Avenue, a block down from River's Restaurant on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from noon to 4 p.m.

Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are allowed. Call (970) 945-1007 for more information.

The next visit will be Thursday, Sept. 13 at the Montrose CBOC from 8am to 4pm by appointment. Officials say there are only a few appointments left. Call (970) 249-7791 for more information.

The final visit will be Friday, Sept. 14, at the Grand Junction Day Shelter for the Homeless on Pitkin Avenue in Grand Junction from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
