GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The annual ski swap, held by R-5 High School, provided an opportunity to catch some great deals as we head into the ski season. The annual event took place at the Lincoln Park barn today.
Various vendors from the Grand Valley and beyond showcased merchandise and offered shoppers both used and new items for the ski and snowboard season.
The entry fee was only a dollar to enter, and the money raised benefits students at R-5 High School.
"It goes to two primary funds. One of them is a scholarship fund honoring Joe Roscoe, the first principal at R5, and every student who graduates and completes a semester of post secondary school gets a $300 scholarship if they pass all their classes and complete a semester," said Al Kreinburg, the chair of the ski swap committee.
Wintertime often brings with it boredom and sadness due to being stuck in the house while the weather is dreary and cold. But, there is no reason for it to have to be this way. One of the least expensive and fun ways to get out in the fresh air and have a good time this winter is to go snow sledding.
To go snow sledding all you have to have is a sled (or something
similar that will slide on snow), snow, a hill, and yourself. The whole
