NEAR SALT LAKE CITY, UT (AP) Blue skies replaced the gray haze of smoke and ash that covered the area Friday. The fire started at a landfill on Thursday and since then has burned more than 5,600 acres. About 600 homes were evacuated. A steady parade of helicopters dropped water and refilled at Utah lake. Other aircraft used fire-retardant chemicals to contain the blaze. Officials say the dump fire is about 30 percent contained.
