Metro State offering discount tuition for illegal immigrants

DENVER, Colo (KKCO) Former house speaker, and Metro Trustee Terrance Carroll told the Denver Post the school is willing to defend its decision. Metro State was in the spotlight earlier this year after its new proposal would allow certain illegal immigrants to attend school at a less expensive rate. They would pay just over $3,500, about half of the nonresident rate. So far, school officials say 72 new and 24 returning students have registered under the new rate.

I'm all for it, education should be available to these students. I see nothing but economic growth, not to mention in increase in tax paying Americans. Anyone against this is just ignorant and racist. As for anyone saying that these people are criminals for being here, I'm pretty sure more then 90% of us have committed crimes far greater than this. Calling them criminals makes you nothing but a hypocrit.

I'm outraged thet they can decide to let illegals go to go but cut funding for educating legal American children whose parents have paid taxes. They wonder why our children have average or below average education. I think they need to give the power back to the people of America. If they like illegals maybe they should take them back to their country and stay there!

It is obvious that our government and the educational institutions that operate on taxpayers money, do not care what the American taxpayer thinks or cares about. It is time for the legal American working class to stand up and tell them, enough. You are encapable of taking care of and/or educating the legal citizens of this country and it is time for your funding to be discontinued. Anyone with any sense of concern for this country should seek education somewhere else other than Metro State University and all taxpayer funding should be withdrawn from Metro State University. If they are so righteous in their position, then they should not have any trouble finding private support for their institution.

Illegal Aliens mean they committed a crime by being here. YOU are allowing them to pay less tuition than if my niece (who's mother died 2 years ago) had decided to come here and go to school to be near her aunts. This is wrong when people who committed a crime to be in this country come before citizens.

What a slap in the face for legal citizens, both in and out of state. What a slap in the face to any American citizen.
