GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) The Maryland-based nonprofit has been picking up trash for two years. They started in Maryland and are going to finish in San Francisco this fall.
Sunday, volunteers started on 12th Street in Grand Junction, took a left on G Road, and then took a right on 23 1/2 Road, finishing up on Highway 50.
Organizers say seven Colorado Mesa University students, two Sierra Club members and a community member came out to help.
The group has have 13 miles left in Colorado and will continue to work their way southwest.
