GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) It was part of the fifth annual bead show hosted by "a bead carnival. The Tuscon-based shop brought more than 2,000 pounds of beads from all over the world, as well as vintage beads.
The company travels to different towns in the United States to host bead shows. For them, its a time to encourage the celebration of beading.
"Beads have been in adornment for men since really the beginning of time. And they still are. So this is our way to encourage beading," says Tomas Smith, bead show director.
More than 200 people attended the show, where they could purchase any of the beads or take classes to learn how to make beaded jewelry.
The next bead show in Grand Junction will be held at the end of October, also at the Doubletree.
