Indians Maintain SWL Dominance With Win Over Wildcats

GRAND JUNCTION - The Montrose Indians proctected their Southwestern Conference lead with a 34-17 win over the Fruita Monument Wildcats at Stocker Stadium on Friday night.

The Indians join Durango as the only two 4A schools in the five team conference. Grand Junction, Central, and Fruita Monument are all 5A.

The Indians have dispatched of both the Warriors and Wildcats and now will shift their focus to the game against the Tigers on Friday, October 24.

Wildcats runningback Mike Campbell rushed for 220 yards in the loss.

Montrose improves to 7-1 on the season having one seven in a row and are 2-0 in the Southwestern Conference.

Fruita Monument falls to 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in the conference. The Wildcats next game is against Poudre on Saturday, October 25 at Stocker Stadium in a game that head coach Billy Moore calls a "must win" in order to get into the playoffs.

    I haven't seen any positive comments on montrose indians making it to the play offs , I beleive it is almost a given that they will be in the playoffs, let's hear more on the indians please!!!
