Warriors Take Two From Wildcats

FRUITA, Colo. - The Fruita Monument boys and girls teams gave the Central Warriors a test on Friday night, but both teams came up on the losing end on senior night.

Kahler Grandbouche was the unlikely hero for the Central boy's team by scoring 27 points in a 48-43 win over the Wildcats. The Warriors hold on to a slime lead over the Grand Junction Tigers in the Southwestern League standings with the narrow victory.

Alex Mende scored 17 points and Brett Nankervis added 12 for the Wildcats in the loss.

Amy Kame led the way for the girls with 23 points in the Warriors 54-36 on Friday night. Taylor Johnson led the Wildcats with 9 points.

The Warriors will be back on the floor on Tuesday night against the Tigers at Grand Junction High School.

The Wildcats return to action against the Indians in Montrose.
