FRUITA, Colo. - For the past four high school baseball seasons the Southwestern League has been dominated by the Grand Junction Tigers. The Fruita Monument Wildcats hope to put an end to that this spring.

The Wildcats opend SWL play last Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over the Central Warriors. That win sent a message to the rest of the league that the Wildcats intend on being serious contenders this spring.

Now the Wildcats (1-0 SWL) get their first chance to prove it with the first of two rivalry games against the Tigers (2-0 SWL) starting on Tuesday night.

The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown out at 6:00 on Tuesday night at Suplizio Field.
