GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A Fruita Monument offensive lineman completed a pass for about 40 yards on Friday night aganist Bear Creek, but the Wildcats A11 offense wasn't enough in a 40-13 loss at Stocker Stadium.

On the Wildcats second series of the game the offense shifted into a formation that left only three down lineman with three players split wide to both the left and right sides. Quarterback Zach Thorpe took the snap and threw a lateral pass to offensive guard Andrew Abrams who then hurled the ball down field for a completed pass to Casey Rogers.

The drive would stall though and the Bears responded with a touchdown pass from Zach Thenell to Armoni Brewington for the 6-0 lead.

The Wildcats would successfully convert a 32 yard field goal to cut the lead in half 6-3, but that was as close as the Wildcats would get the entire game.

Fruita (1-1) will next play on Friday, September 18 on the road at Rangeview High School.
