Warriors take the drivers seat in SWL softball

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - After giving up three runs in the first two innings, Mikayla Duffey and the Central Warriors locked down on defense and defeated the Fruita Monument Wildcats 14-3 at Bergman Field on Tuesday night.

Duffey gave up back-to-back doubles to the warning track in the second inning which allowed the Wildcats to build the 3-0 lead.

The Warriors would go on to score six runs in the top of the fourth inning and Duffey finished the game with 10 strike outs to improve to 11-1 on the season. It was Duffey's 26th career win pitching for the Warriors.

Erika Chirdon got the loss for the Wildcats. It was her first loss of the season as she falls to 9-1.
