GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Saturday marked the 7th annual Anna Banana 5K. The race is a fundraiser for the Anna Lee Foundation, which was set up in 2002 to honor the life of Anna Janowitz after she died in a car accident.

Anna was a member of the Fruita Monument High School cross country team. Every fall, family, friends and the Wildcat team get together to host the Anna Banana 5k, the foundation's biggest fundraiser.

The proceeds from the fundraiser are used to produce scholarships for Graduating High School Seniors in the Grand Junction area that plan on attending college.
