FRUITA, Colo. - For a majority of the season the Central Warriors received most of the attention on the Western Slope when it came to high school softball. But the Fruita Monument Wildcats aren't that far behind.
The Wildcats enter the Region 6 tournament as the 8th seeded team in the state out of 32 total teams. They also boast one of the best records in the state with 17 wins and only two losses.
Records and seedings aside, the Wildcats are most pleased with the fact that they get to host the opening two rounds of the Region tournament and don't have to take a long bus trip to the Front Range.
11 Sports' reporter Tom Giles caught up with the Wildcats at practice this week and gives us the inside scoop as the Wildcats prepare for the post season. To see Tom's report, click on the video above.
