Wildcats beat Tigers, advance to state playoffs

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - (KKCO) The Fruita Monument Wildcats came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Grand Junction Tigers 8-2 at Canyon View Park on Saturday afternoon.

Freshmen Mallory Paulson struck out nine and gave up just one earned run on three hits for the Wildcats.

The victory punches Fruita's ticket into the state tournament. Grand Junction finishes it's season 15-7.

State playoffs begin on Friday. Brackets will be released by the CHSAA on Sunday.
