Lady Cats thump Palisade in opener

PALISADE, Colo. - (KKCO) Sarah Hensley led the Fruita Monument Wildcats with 17 points in their season opening 56-33 win over the Palisade Bulldogs on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs were within three points of the lead in the third quarter on their home floor before failing to overtake the lead down the stretch. Meghan Peters scored 11 points in the loss while Kendra Barnes added 10 points.

The Wildcats (1-0) also received large contributions from junior forward Taylor Johnson and senior post Stephanie Long. Both of them scored 12 points in the win.
