Dan Schmalz resigns from FMHS girls basketball

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- After five years at the helm of the Fruita Monument girls basketball program, Dan Schmalz is resigning.

Schmalz becomes the third high school basketball coach to retire in the valley since the conclusion of the season. In his five years as the Wildcats head coach, he was 54-63 overall with a 23-27 record in the SWL. During his tenure, the highest his girls finished in league play was third (2011, 2012).
