GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Monument boys' basketball team has just one returning starter from last year's league champion team.

Senior forward, Spencer Fair knows what it's like to win 25 consecutive league games and he will be centerpiece of a new-era Wildcats team.

Fruita is under the direction of Billy Dreher for the first time this season, and Dreher says he's relying on Fair to produce big numbers for the Wildcats.

"Most nights we need double-doubles from [Fair]," said Dreher on Tuesday.

"Drew [Bridges] and Alex [Padgett] helped keep the team together [last year] when something was falling apart," Fair said, "I'm going to have to pick up that role and weave everyone together."

Fruita Monument's season gets underway on Thursday against Delta in the Warrior Challenge at Central High School.
