Drew Bridges giving up 1 for full-time 6

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Drew Bridges was a dominant force on the mound in past seasons, but in his work to improve his fielding skills, the 6'4" shortstop is opting to play in the field full time.

Bridges cites his commitment to play ball at the University of New Mexico this fall as the biggest reason for his permanent switch to middle infielder.

The star athletes at Fruita Monument is also taking advantage of his final opportunity to enjoy high school sports. Make sure you watch the video to see how teammates keep him humble.

If you haven't had the chance to see this kid perform on the athletic field, you should while you have the chance. He is a great kid, and represents the student-athletes in this valley very well. I had the opportunity to compete against him on the basketball floor, and he is a very classy and humble kid.
