HS Baseball: Fruita Monument kicks off SWL play with 12-1 romp over Central

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Already we had the first games of SWL baseball.

So far these teams have only played teams from the other side of the state during last weekend's Bill Fanning Classic. Fruita Monument took two of three, while the Central Warriors went two-for-two in their meetings with Horizon and Greeley Central.

And one of these two were not only going to get win number three, but an important first league win as well.

Leading 3-1 in the fifth inning, Fruita's Cuba Bess launched a pitch over the wall in right field to make it 5-1, and the Cats didn't look back, piling it on for the 12-1 win.
