HS HOOPS: FMHS seeks 3rd straight SWL Title

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Fruita Monument begins their season, along with the rest of the teams in the valley, on Thursday with the Warrior Challenge. But unlike the rest of those teams, the Wildcats will be in search of their third straight conference title.

FMHS has won 20 straight SWL games and have not lost a conference game since the 2008-09 season. Last year, the Wildcats lost in the Sweet 16 of the 5A playoffs to Highlands Ranch, and they will have to account for two key losses from that squad.

They return two-time SWL player of the year with Drew Bridges, and one of their best shooters in Alex Padgett, but Dave Fox will have to find replacements for Tyler Daniels and Tyler Kenagy.
