GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Monument Wildcats advanced to the State Tournament with back-to-back wins at Saturday's Regional Tournament, while the Grand Junction Tigers were eliminated by Ralston Valley.
FMHS and GJHS won their first games to meet up in the second round. The Wildcats scored five runs in the fifth inning to come back and beat the Tigers 8-5 for an automatic bid into State.
The Tigers were then shut out 4-0 by Ralston Valley, bringing their season to an end.
