GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The FMHS swept the Central Warriors at home while the Tigers defeated Montrose for their first league game of the season.

Fruita Monument improved to 4-1 in the SWL with the three-game sweep (27-25, 25-19, 25-14). The Wildcats nearly let the first game get away from them as they had a 24-21 lead before Central scored four straight points to take the lead. FMHS responded with three straight wins to claim the first game 27-25.

Grand Junction beat Montrose 17-15 in game five to take a 3-2 win at GJHS on Tuesday.

It was the first SWL win for the Tigers, who trailed for much of the final game.
