GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- On Wednesday, Avery Kuper, a senior forward for the Fruita Monument boys' soccer team, will make his third straight appearance in the Class 5A state playoffs.

Kuper admits it's been an incredible turnaround for a team that was 2-11-2 in his freshman year.

"[We had] a bunch of kids just trying to do their own thing," Kuper said about the team he played for his freshman year.

"This year we have a lot of kids that can work really well together and we can get the job done."

The Wildcats earned the 31st seed in the Class 5A tournament. They will face 2nd seeded Denver East on Wednesday in Denver.
