GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Grand Junction baseball team barely had a chance to catch its collective breath after the wild ride that was Friday night's game against Durango.
The Tigers fell way behind early, but spurred by a grand slam off the bat of Tyler Heinsma they rallied to beat the Demons 14-13. But there was no time to rest, because the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers came into town Saturday hoping to steal a win.
The game was close early, with Junction leading only 4-2 in the third. After a bases-loaded double by Owen Taylor, though, there was no coming back for the Panthers.
Heinsma made his presence felt on the mound this time, coming in to pitch in the 6th to shut the door on any Panter comeback. Tigers win 10-5.
