Tigers Take Rivalry Game From Warriors Again

GRAND JUNCTION - The Central Warriors scored their first touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter but by then it was too late as the Grand Junction Tigers won the rivalry game 28-14 on Friday night at Stocker Stadium.

The Tigers built a 21-0 lead by the end of the third quarter thanks to two touchdown passes and a 20 yard touchdown run by quarterback Ross Koepsell.

Central opened the fourth quarter with a scoring drive that was led by sophomore quarterback Holden Reed who replaced Clay Kame. Reed capped the drive with a short touchdown run to make it 21-7.

The Tigers needed a win and a Montrose loss to advance to the 4A playoffs, but the Indians beat the Durango Demons at home 41-8.

The season comes to an end for both the Tigers and Warriors.
