GRAND JUNCTION - The Grand Junction Tigers boys basketball team continues its run through the Southwestern League by handing the Fruita Monument Wildcats a 27 points loss in their rivaly game 67-40.
Tigers' guard Chris Kelly hit a three to open the scoring for Grand Junction, and forward Doug Brady hit back-to-back three pointers in the first quarter to help the Tigers jump out to a 9-2 lead.
Alex Mende led the Wildcats with 12 points and Colton Warneke added ten, but it wasn't enough to stop the Tigers barrage.
Everett Robinson scored ten points in the first half on his way to a game high 14 points. Brady and Calvin Rock each scored 13 for the Tigers.
Grand Junction improves to 5-0 in the SWL and 15-2 overall after picking up its seventh straight win.
Fruita Monument falls to 2-2 in the SWL, 8-7 overall. The Wildcats host the Montrose Indians on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m.
