GRAND JUNCTION - The mercy rule was in full effect in the Grand Junction Tigers season opener at the Bill Fanning Classic as they dominated Coronado 11-1 Thursday morning.
The Tigers finished the game in the fifth inning when Tim Gastineau scored the decisive run on a bases loaded wild pitch.
The Tigers will be back on the field again on Friday against Rampart at 10:00 a.m.
