GRAND JUNCTION - After losing for the first time this season last Friday against Thunderridge, the Grand Junction Tigers baseball team rebounded with a vengence for a 9-1 win over Littleton at Suplizio Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Geoff Baldwin struck out five Lions batters through the first two innings and then added a three run rocket in the bottom of the second that boosted the Tigers lead to 6-0.
The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a pair of sacrifice flys by Ross Koepsell and Aaron Burke.
Eric Bergman started off the four run second inning with a deep triple to the left-center field alley. Chris Kelley brought Bergman home with a single through the middle of the infield three batters before Baldwin's home run.
The Tigers are due back on the diamond on Friday afternoon against Montezuma-Cortez at Suplizio Field. It is the first Southwestern League game of the season for the tigers. First pitch will be thrown at 3:00 p.m.
