GRAND JUNCTION - The Alex Bennett three-on-three memorial basketball tournament is held on the first Sunday of November each year. All proceeds earned from the tournament go towards helping two college and two high school athletes pay for a college education.

On Wednesday the two high school scholarships were awarded to Grand Junction High School's Eric Bergman and to Central High School's Maketa Nislanik.

In January the two Mesa State scholarships were awarded to Bassey Ekong and Kelsie Gourdin.
