GRAND JUNCTION - The Grand Junction Tigers baseball team can clinch the Southwestern League title for the second year in a row with a win over the Fruita Monument Wildcats on Friday night.
The Wildcats lost to the Central Warriors on Tuesday night, while the Tigers beat the Montrose Indians to overtake the outright lead of the SWL. But the Wildcats are still in control.
If Fruita Monument beats Grand Junction the two teams would move back into a first place tie with the Wildcats owning the tie-breaker.
The Tigers lost the first meeting between the two schools back on April 4 11-9.
