GRAND JUNCTION - The Southwestern League is up for grabs after the Central Warriors defeated the Grand Junction Tigers on Tuesday night 58-41.
The Tigers, Warriors, and Montezuma-Cortez Panthers are all tied on top of the league standings with three wins and one loss.
Warriors guard Michael Wiedrich blew the game open when he hit three consecutive three pointers in second quarter which gave the Warriors a 31-16 halftime lead. Wiedrich scored 11 of his 13 points in the second quarter.
Tigers forward Everrett Robinson led all scorers with 21 points, but was only 1-8 from the field in the opening half in the loss. Sean Citlau led the Warriors with 19 points in the win.
Amy Kame scored her 1,000th career point for the lady Warriors in Central's win over the Grand Junction Tigers 62-26 on Tuesday night. Kame scored 27 points in the Warriors win. Halleigh Higgins added 19 for the Warriors.
Central is on the road this weekend when they face the Montrose Indians on Friday night.
The Tigers return to action against the Fruita Monument Wildcats on Friday at Fruita Monument High School.
