GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - The Grand Junction Tigers were celebrating a win in their season finale on Tuesday. But for the first time in five years they were not celebrating a league championship.
The Tigers beat the Central Warriors 9-6 at Suplizio field. They finished the season 15-3 overall, 8-2 in the Southwestern League - tied with the Durango Demons. The Demons claim the league title however, due to a tiebreaker.
Durango and Grand Junction are the only teams from the SWL to qualify for the playoffs, which begin this weekend.
