Donnie Alexander to take over GJHS Baseball

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Donnie Alexander will be taking over the vacant head coaching spot at Grand Junction High School.

Alexander was recently an assistant coach at Palisade High School this past spring.

"I'm very fortunate to get the opportunity to be a head coach here at GJHS," said Alexander on Monday night.

"One of the things I strive at is teaching," he told KKCO 11 Sports' Phil Stafford, "being able to teach kids different aspects both on the field and off the field, and the life lessons that you're going to learn from baseball."

Alexander takes over for Kyle Rush, who stepped down from the position in May after 12 years in the program.
