GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The (10) Grand Junction Tigers had the biggest game of the night, as they opened up the 2013 5A playoffs opposite the (23) Westminster Wolves for round one.
The Tigers were first to score, but the Wolves soon followed and took the lead with a two-point conversion after draining the clock in the first quarter.
In the second, Grand Junction got to work in the final minutes; Heinsma avoided a rush and got out of trouble, passing off to Austin Lewis for a fresh set of downs. They'd go on to take a 15-8 lead before time expired in the half.
That momentum carried into the second where they put out two straight touchdowns - one from Heinsma on the ground and another from a pick-six courtesy of Jack Parsons. The Tigers went on to defeat the Wolves 32-8.
