GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Monument Wildcats shocked the Grand Junction Tigers at Canyon View Park on Tuesday with a 5-4 win in extra innings.
GJHS (7-3, 2-2) led from the first inning until the seventh, but in the seventh inning, FMHS (7-4, 3-1) tied the game and sent it into the eighth inning.
In the eighth inning, Evan McDermott sent a bullet into center with the bases loaded and one out. The ball flew over the center fielder's head for the game winning hit.
