GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- After a slow start, the Grand Junction Tigers continued their dominate reign in the 5A with a 28-14 victory over Fountain-Fort Carson.
GJHS (5-0) did not score in the first half and trailed 7-0 going into the third. But the Tigers came out with new and improved second half game plan. GJHS scored four touchdowns for 28 points in the second half to win convincingly over the Trojans.
Jerreon Dennis scored the first two touchdowns for the Tigers in the third quarter. Sean Rubalcaba connected with Aaron Minnick in the redzone for his only touchdown pass. And then Rubalcaba capped off the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Next up, the Tigers will host Central on Oct. 7 at Stocker Stadium.
