GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Palisade's 31-3 loss to top-ranked Rifle in week six didn't hurt the Bulldogs much in the state rankings.

The Bulldogs slipped two spots to fourth in the state for Class 3A. They are the highest ranked one-loss team in the class.

As for 5A, the Grand Junction Tigers, who fell out of the state rankings in week six for the first time in two years, are now making some ground. The Tigers received three votes in week seven's poll.

The story of the year, though, is the Cedaredge football team. The Bruins have won five straight games and now sit as the No. 5 team in Class 1A, two spots above the preseason No. 1, the Hotchkiss Bulldogs.
