GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Grand Junction Tigers will be switching it up this Friday with the method they use to signal plays into the offensive huddle.
Tigers players commented on Thursday that the Ralston Valley Mustangs knew which plays Grand Junction was running based on the signals they called out. The Tigers lost that game 23-15 to Ralston Valley in week three.
This week the Tigers will use large cardboard signs to communicate their plays in addition to signalling in as they have done all season.
The new format meant more study time for the offense, but Austin Lewis is glad they did it.
"Since [Fruita Monument] is an in town team, they may know some of our calls," Lewis said.
"So when we get those cards going up, [the Wildcats] won't know what's going on."
