GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Saturday's inaugural Western Rockies Sports Combine made history.
This was the first event of its kind held in Grand Junction for student-athletes to test their athletic performance. Whether it was the weight pull, the 40-yard dash, or the bench press, between 30-40 participants, from all age ranges, took part in the combine.
By far the most impressive aspect of Saturday's event was the automatic electronic timing system that WRSC founder - and Grand Junction High School sophomore - Austin Lewis was able to utilize courtesy of Zybek Sports. The timing system was exactly the same as the equipment used in the NFL Scouting Combine in February.
