Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – This week, many District 51 students are putting down their books and finding different ways to fill their time during spring break.
Some students have been at the local mall, and many have spent their week at parks riding their bikes, jumping rope, catching up with friends and playing sports.
"I’ve been enjoying it by sleeping in, you know coming out here and playing basketball with my dad and hanging out with friends and family,” says Toby Gallegos, an 8th grader at Grand Mesa Middle School.
Spring break is a good chance for kids to recharge their batteries for the remainder of the school year before the students start back to school next week.
