GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The man who police say robbed two local pharmacies has been formally charged with 14 counts including aggravated robbery, kidnapping and felony menacing.
In January, 54-year-old Joel Crawford allegedly robbed the Walgreens pharmacy on 32 Road with a gun, making off with $1,500 worth of Oxycotin.
Police say he robbed the Rite Aid on F Road for more of the drug in March.
11 News has obtained a copy of his arrest affidavit. According to that document, Crawford told staff to wait in the store bathroom for 10 minutes while he fled or he would “blow their heads off” during the Walgreens robbery.
The affidavit says Crawford’s wife recognized him from surveillance video and his sister in-law says he told her he’d robbed two pharmacies.
He’s due back in court next week.
