Rockies Force One-Game Playoff For Wildcard

Denver (AP) -Two days ago Colorado Rockies fans left Coors Field upset that their team's playoff hopes had been pummeled with a loss to Arizona.

On Sunday, the Rockies' hopes were higher than they've been for a
long time.

With a 4-3 win over the Diamondback, the Rockies will play a tie-breaker game Monday against San Diego for the NL Wild Card, after a Rockies win and Padres loss gave both teams the same record after 162 games.

But there wasn't much excitement at first, as the Padres jumped to a 3-0 lead on Milwaukee. Slowly, the Brewers took the lead, and the Rockies crowd went crazy as the manual scoreboard operator in right field recorded every Brewers run.

The Rockies finally did their part, scoring three times in the
eighth to break a 1-1 tie before holding on for a 4-3 win.

San Diego will face off against Colorado Monday at 5:30 p.m. for the one-game playoff for the NL Wildcard.

The winner of the game will go on to face the Philadelphia Phillies in the Divisional Playoffs.
