GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Grand Junction Art Center unveiled its new exhibits Friday evening, featuring influential work from a renown group of artists in Denver.
The Denver Group, as their known, is seven artists who have traveled as far as Taos and settled in Denver. The Art Center united their unique work, some pieces never being seen in public before. Experts say its a rare opportunity to see work that's influenced much of modern western art.
"This is probably the only time you're going to see all of these works together. He's (exhibit curator) curated the show and brought works from 12 different private collections together, and they're all very well known on their own at this point," says Robbie Breaus, board president of the Art Center.
Other displays are pastel paintings by the International Mile High Pastel Society, which usually shows in Denver. An array of watercolor paintings and pottery from Grand Junction clay artists is also showcased.
