A 23 year old Mesa woman was killed early Friday morning after
being ejected from an SUV she was driving.
According to Colorado State Patrol, at 12:05 a.m. 23 year old Courtni J. Bieser was driving a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder eastbound on County Road 330E, that’s about 25 miles east of the town of Collbran. Beiser lost control on a curve, went off the left side of the road and rolled multiple times down an embankment. The car came to rest on it’s left side about 50 feet off the roadway. Troopers believe the vehicle was going faster than the posted 30 mph speed limit. Bieser was not wearing a seatbelt. She was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people were inside the SUV when it crashed. Joseph T. Bieser, 22, was wearing a seatbelt. He was treated and released at the scene with minor injuries. Hannah Etcheverry, 18, was not wearing a seatbelt and was also ejected. She was taken to a hospital in Glenwood Springs. She was in stable condition early Friday morning.
Colorado State Patrol does not suspect alcohol in the crash.
