GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has turned over its investigation into the death of a Clifton teen over to the District Attorney's Office.
Officials with the Sheriff's Office tell 11 News they handed over the case to the DA late Wednesday.
Sixteen-year-old Troy Martinez was shot earlier this month at a friend's house on Susan Street.
Authorities haven't made any arrests yet, although they did take Martinez's friend in for questioning.
Sheriff's Office officials say they can't comment further on the case because it's an active investigation.
No word on how long the DA might take to make a decision on the case or if arrests are forthcoming.
