Police have identified the man who ran from the scene of a deadly traffic crash on Saturday and are interviewing him.
Grand Junction Police aren't saying who the man is or how they found him but say he has not been charged with a crime and was only wanted for questioning.
Police say the man fled the scene of Saturday’s fatal crash on Highway 6&40. Authorities say a group of Fruita students was on the way to homecoming activities when a truck turned in between them and another vehicle. The driver of the truck, 21–year–old Carl Ayers, died of asphyxia after he was thrown out of his truck and pinned underneath it in a position where he couldn't breathe.
The crash remains under investigation and police say they are still investigating how the person they are questioning was involved in the crash.
