While the Colorado Tourism Conference educates those in the tourism industry, it also pumps money into our local economy.
More than 500 people have flocked to Grand Junction to participate in the conference. This means that more than 500 people are eating in our restaurants and sleeping in our hotels.
According to the Colorado Tourism Office, money from tourism directly impacts tax revenue. Money that without, Grand Junction residents would either be paying more in taxes or see a decrease in state services that are available.
The Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau estimate that this event brings about $350,000 into our community.
