A trailer overturned Thursday night, spilling thousands of gallons of flammable liquid north of Loma.
The rollover happened on Highway 139 near mile marker 32.
The pickup truck was hauling five barrels. Each one carried more than 300 gallons of a gas-detergent mixture.
While the trailer rolled, the truck stayed upright. The driver was not injured.
The Lower Valley Fire Department responded to the incident, trying to isolate the spillage. That spillage is estimated to be more than a thousand gallons.
Grand Junction Hazmat teams have called off cleanup efforts for the rest of Thursday. They will start again, early Friday morning.
