The 21st Judicial Critical Incident Team and the Grand Junction Police Department are investigating an early morning shooting involving Grand Junction Police Officers.
Police were called out to the A & W Trailor Park on 2852 1/2 Belford Avenue on a report of felony menacing with at least one shot fired just before 2am this morning.
When officers got to the scene they learned that the suspects had left in a white minivan.
Officers found the van and one suspect at 2837 North Avenue and that's when the police department says shots were fired and the suspect was transported to St. Mary's Hospital.
Police say because this is under investigation they can't release any more information at this time.
The C.I.T. and Grand Junction Police are interviewing witnesses right now.
Linda Bowman, spokewoman for the Grand Junction Police Department, says it is standard procedure for the Critical Incident Team to investigate incidents involving law enforcement officers that use lethal force on duty.
